Researcher spotlights new biomarker for gliomas

An investigator at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation says he used data mining and bioinformatics tech to identify a new biomarker for gliomas, the most common kind of brain cancer. The biomarker ELTD1 "may serve as an additional biomarker for gliomas in preclinical and clinical diagnosis of gliomas," according to the study by Rheal A. Towner. Towner's work suggests that high levels of ELTD1 expression are linked to a "higher grade of glioma, and with lower survival." Report
